Find your spot. Find your people.
Post when you're heading out — a calisthenics session, a bouldering session, a run, or any sport you're into — and let others nearby join in. hengspot maps outdoor training spots and shows you who's going to them. New city, new sport, no crew? Start here.
No spam. Beta access only.
The app we wished existed
Group chats are flaky. Scheduling threads go quiet. It's hard to coordinate and easy to cancel. But the real fix isn't getting better at coordinating friends — it's finding people who are already heading to the same spot, at the same time, for the same reason.
So we built something simpler: post when you're going, see who else is. No back-and-forth. Just show up.
Three steps.
Open the map
See calisthenics spots and bouldering walls near you plus upcoming activities posted by others. Know what's close and who's heading out.
Post an activity or join one
No group chat. No "who's in?" messages. Just post a spot and a time — anyone nearby can see it and join. Running works the same way: drop a meetup point, done.
Show up. Train together.
Strangers become regulars. Meet people who train the same way you do — whether you just moved to the city or just picked up the sport.
Spots and activities. That's it.
No feed, no algorithm. Just where to go and who's going there.
Activities — post your workout
Going training? Post it. Set a time and an optional cap. Others nearby see it and can join — calisthenics, bouldering, or a freeform run. It's just you saying "I'm heading out, come if you want."
Spots on the map
Calisthenics parks, pull-up bars, dip stations, and bouldering walls — catalogued and kept up-to-date by the community. If it's not on any other map, it's probably here.
New city, new sport, new people
Moved somewhere new or picked up a sport with no crew? Open hengspot, see who's training nearby, and post that you're heading out. You don't need to know anyone first.
A map the community maintains
Know a pull-up bar that isn't on the map? Add it. Spots get reviewed and synced back to OpenStreetMap. The map gets better with every user.
Sports at launch.
Three dedicated sports plus a free-form category at launch. More dedicated sports added over time.
Calisthenics
Find pull-up bars, dip stations, and outdoor gyms on the map. Post an activity at a spot and others nearby can join you, or browse what's already scheduled.
Bouldering
Browse climbing gyms and outdoor boulders on the map. Post a session at any spot — indoor or outdoor — and let others come climb with you.
Running
Activity-first. No fixed spots needed — just post a meetup point or a route start, wherever you're heading from. Others nearby see it and can join. Freeform, every time.
Other
Football, tennis, padel, hiking, volleyball — anything that doesn't have its own category yet. You name the activity, drop a meetup point, and others nearby can join. Dedicated categories for popular "Other" sports will be added later.
No fixed spots for running or other activities.
For calisthenics and bouldering, activities are tied to a specific spot: the bars, the wall. You pick the location on the map, post a time, and people who are already looking at that spot can see it and join.
Running and Other activities don't depend on fixed equipment, so there are no spots for them on the map. Just drop a meetup point anywhere — a route start, a park entrance, a football pitch — post when you're going, and others nearby can see it and join you.
Spots and activities, near you.
The map shows two things: outdoor training spots (calisthenics parks, pull-up bars, bouldering walls) and live activities posted by people heading out to train. See both at once.
Move to a new city? Open hengspot, see every outdoor spot near you, and instantly know who's training there today. No forum threads, no 40-minute search.
Common questions.
What are "spots"?
Spots are fixed outdoor training locations — pull-up bars, dip stations, outdoor gyms, and bouldering walls. Many aren't on any standard map; the hengspot community adds and maintains them. You can browse spots without an account and suggest missing ones directly in the app.
What's an "activity"?
An activity is you going to train and telling others about it. You pick a spot and a time (or just a meetup point for running), and other people nearby can see it and join you. It's not a club or a scheduled class — just a signal that says "I'm heading out, come if you want."
Does running work differently from calisthenics and bouldering?
Yes. Calisthenics and bouldering activities are tied to a specific spot — the equipment is fixed. Running doesn't need fixed equipment, so there are no "running spots" on the map. For running, just drop a meetup point anywhere — a route start — and anyone nearby can see it and join.
What is the "Other" category?
Other is a free-form category for any activity that doesn't have its own dedicated category yet — football, tennis, padel, hiking, volleyball, whatever you're into. You name the activity yourself, drop a meetup point, set a time, and others nearby can see it and join. Sports that get popular enough in "Other" will eventually get their own dedicated category on hengspot.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. The full map is visible without signing in. You only need an account to join or create sessions.
When does the beta launch?
Summer 2026. Waitlist members get access before the public launch.
Is hengspot free?
All core features are free. A plus subscription is planned for extras down the road, but finding and joining workouts will always be free.
Which platforms is hengspot available on?
iOS, Android, and web.
Train with someone, starting from day one.
Even a handful of people in your city means you can post an activity and find someone to train with. The map gets richer and activities get more frequent as the community grows. Beta launches summer 2026.
