1. Who we are
hengspot ("hengspot", "we", "us", or "our") is a service that maps outdoor training spots — such as calisthenics parks, pull-up bars, and bouldering walls — and lets people post activities and join others heading out to train. hengspot is operated from Slovenia. You can reach us at info@hengspot.com.
hengspot is currently in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed, and the service may be unavailable from time to time.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and hengspot governing your use of the hengspot apps, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, browsing the map, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
3. Eligibility & age
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the social and activity features of hengspot. By creating an account you confirm that you are 16 or older and that the date of birth you provide is accurate. We may ask you to confirm your age and may remove accounts that do not meet this requirement.
Browsing the public map — and joining some activities — does not require an account. Creating activities, messaging, adding friends, and the other social features require you to sign in. Where a feature is available without an account, these Terms still apply to your use of it.
4. Your account
- You are responsible for the information you provide, including your email, username, display name, date of birth, and bio. Keep this information accurate.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and account secure, and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at info@hengspot.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate others or create accounts to evade a suspension.
- You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing info@hengspot.com. (Self-service deletion in the app isn't available yet, so for now we handle deletion requests by email.)
5. Acceptable use
hengspot only works if people treat each other and the community map with respect. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harm other users;
- post content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence;
- post false, misleading, or spam activities, or submit fake or inaccurate spots;
- use the Service to advertise, sell, or promote unrelated products or services without our permission;
- collect or scrape other users' data, or use the location of users or activities to track, profile, or contact people for unwanted purposes;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorised to access, or interfere with, overload, or probe the Service or its security;
- use the Service for any illegal activity or in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
6. Your content
"Your content" means anything you submit to the Service — your profile and bio, activities you create, messages you send, and spots you suggest. You keep ownership of your content.
By submitting content, you grant hengspot a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and improve the Service — for example, showing your activity to nearby users or your profile to people you might train with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we must keep it to comply with the law.
You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to submit it. You also understand that some content is, by design, visible to other users (see our Privacy Policy for what is public).
Spots you suggest are intended to be contributed to OpenStreetMap and become part of an open dataset — see Spots & map data.
7. Activities & meetups — train at your own risk
hengspot helps people find each other; it does not organise, supervise, or vet activities or the people who attend them. Activities are created by users, not by us. We do not run background checks, verify identities, or guarantee that anyone is who they say they are.
When you join or host an activity, you do so at your own risk. Please use common sense:
- Meet in public places, especially the first time you meet someone.
- Tell a friend where you're going and consider bringing someone with you.
- Know your own limits — physical training and outdoor sports such as calisthenics, bouldering, and running carry a risk of injury. You are responsible for assessing whether a spot, route, or activity is safe and appropriate for you, and for any equipment you use.
- Trust your instincts and leave any situation that feels unsafe.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, hengspot is not responsible for the conduct of any user, for what happens at or on the way to an activity, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Service or from meeting other people through it. If another user behaves inappropriately or dangerously, please report it to info@hengspot.com and contact local emergency services if you are in danger.
8. Spots & map data
Map and spot data on hengspot is based on OpenStreetMap — © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). When you suggest a new spot, you understand that the suggestion may be reviewed and contributed back to OpenStreetMap, where it becomes part of that open dataset under its licence.
Spot information is community-maintained and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. We do not guarantee that any spot exists, is accessible, is open to the public, or is safe. Verify locations and access for yourself.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service itself — including the hengspot name, logo, design, and software (but excluding your content and third-party data such as OpenStreetMap) — belongs to hengspot and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law.
10. Third-party services
hengspot relies on third-party services to function — for example map tiles, hosting, and privacy-friendly analytics. These services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. Links to third-party sites or services are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.
11. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the rights you have under the GDPR. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
12. Suspension & termination
You may stop using hengspot at any time, and request deletion of your account by emailing info@hengspot.com. We may suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk or harm to other users or to us, or if we are required to do so by law. We may also discontinue the Service or any part of it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licences already granted to other users, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that map data, spots, activities, or user information are accurate or reliable. hengspot is a beta product and may contain bugs or change at any time. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, hengspot will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, your interactions with other users, or any activity arranged through the Service. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless hengspot from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your interactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by us.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you agree that the courts of Slovenia have jurisdiction over any dispute — unless mandatory law in your country of residence (for example, consumer-protection law in the EU) gives you the right to bring proceedings, or requires proceedings to be brought, elsewhere. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
